We strongly encourage everyone to take the Knife Skills class. A knife is the chef’s most important tool – aside from a good palate! This comprehensive class will teach you the basics. Good knife skills are imperative to solid cooking technique. Our Knife skills class is complete with a full meal as well.

Yes, our Team building events are incredibly popular. We offer 2 different formats called our Duel and Mix and Mingle. Our Duel format is a friendly cooking competition. Choose a 4 course meal and let your teams compete in the kitchen. Each menu has a secret ingredient. The team will have to incorporate the secret ingredient into each recipe. Our Mix and Mingle offers guests the experience of cooking along with our talented Chefs. Choose a 4 course meal and learn all the tricks of the trade. We offer a 4 day cancellation policy. If choose to cancel your class 4 days or more prior to the scheduled date, we will issue a full refund or you can choose to be placed in a different class. Most cooking classes are $75 per person, per class. There are some upgraded classes that are $99. If you prefer a physical gift card, we would be happy to make one for you. Our classes celebrate good food and good cooking techniques. Guests in our hands on cooking classes will enjoy the meal they have prepared in each class. You can enjoy your meal in class or feel free to package and take home. Because the meals are served at the end of class, we do recommend eating a snack to hold you over.

When coming to a class, you can expect to learn the tricks of the trade and enjoy a delicious meal. Our classes are all hands-on unless indicated otherwise in the class description. Mirepoix Chefs are talented, extremely knowledgeable and committed to make sure everyone enjoys their experience in Mirepoix. Our classes begin with a short orientation and introduction of our staff. We will introduce each recipe with a short demo. Guests will then be assigned to their cooking station. Each cooking station can fit up to 6 guests. Each cooking station will have their own prep table, stove, oven, kitchen equipment and ingredients. You can enjoy your meal in class at your own table or you can package to take home. Beer and wine available for purchase. You won’t need to bring anything to class – we provide everything for you. Just come dressed comfortably. Please no open toe shoes. For hands-on classes, we will provide you with a chef’s apron. We also provide knives for your use.

Mirepoix is a professional kitchen and you will be on your feet a majority of the class, so please wear appropriate clothing and shoes. We recommend you wear flat, comfortable shoes. We will provide everyone with a black apron.

Mirepoix Cooking School is located in Royal Oak at the . 1203 S. Main Street Royal Oak 48067. Our classroom is located upstairs above our beautiful specialty market. Park in Holiday Market's rear parking lot, enter Holiday Market's rear entrance (look for purple pillars) proceed to the right once you are inside the building. Take the stairs up to the Holiday Catering area. Once upstairs, continue through the Holiday Catering kitchen through the swinging stainless steel door. Look for Mirepoix directional signs in the black stands.

Our old gift cards do require you to call Mirepoix for reservations and a credit card is collected to hold your space until we can collect your gift card in class.
